Typically a good choice for fish n chips in St Albans. Had some lovely cod from this store. Currently 2024 our family favourite choice on a Friday. Keep up the good quality potatoes, cod and oils.

Nice food at a fair price with friendly staff. Sausage, chips and a drink for 4.95 lunch time deal. What a bargain!!!

Went there for the first time on 5th October 2024 for a cod and chips for supper. It seems a popular place, so there was a delay on getting served but that is par for the course at a chippy in my experience. I thought the place looked immaculate, and I particulately liked the flooring (just a personal thing I suppose). The staff seem to know what they were doing and obviously had a workable system up and running that seemed really efficient. I was served by a friendly woman and got my order promptly but I expect that's because I wanted a single portion of medium cod and chips with curry sauce. (Obviously larger orders would likely take longer.) The batter was the best I've tasted in long time and the size of the 'medium' cod generous. Can recommend the curry sauce too. The 'medium' portion of chips was more than I could manage and they were good. All in all a great experience. Though I don't eat fish and chips that often I will certainly go there again - and maybe next time take advantage of phoning my order in beforehand - another service they offer - to do away with the wait time. There was a very good range of choices offered on the clear and easy to read menu boards, and of course plenty of free parking nearby in the quadrant. Excellent experience.

I have been there in person and have had a delivery of fish and chips from Ridgeway Fish and Chips. Both times the quality of the food was excellent and tasty. In person they are very friendly and the premises are extremely clean. Delivery is securely packaged so very reassuring.

First time to get food here since the ownership changed. The particular attraction is the availability of gluten free rock eel on Wednesdays. Ordered online so the food was waiting for me on arrival. Once home, both sets of fish and chips were hot, crisp and obviously newly cooked. Very enjoyable overall.

Really pleased with the quality and service received. The batter is so light and the quality of the cod is fantastic. The whole family gave today's meal a thumbs up. We ordered a sausage that was accidentally left out of the order but Ridgeway we're back in minutes with an extra sausage on the house. I felt the need to leave a good review as most of the time people are compelled to leave a negative review after an incident. This is not the first time I have ordered from Ridgeway and definitely won't be the last!
